Meet you at the Lions.

Meet you at the lions…..

The famous two large stone lions outside the council buildings at the market square Nottingham has been the popular meeting point for Nottingham’s residents since the 1930’s. The lions are called Agamemnon on the left and Menelaus on the right. “Meet you at the Lions me duck”

      1. I don’t remember it from Derbyshire. I’ve always associated it with the Potteries. Of course, once your familiar with hearing it the term doesn’t register the same. In a way similar to me using shopping trolley in Canada, my wife got her girlfriend saying trolley and the girlfriends husband keeps telling her it’s a cart.
